Tausif Sharif presents novel prelaunch procedure at IAC 2020

Press Releases

After years of industry experience developing scalable systems, Tausif Sharif has designed a novel architecture design for a system that would streamline the rocket prelaunch procedure, which he will be presenting at this year’s International Aeronautical Congress. Current rocket prelaunch procedure is primarily manual, with sets of teams completing a checklist before launch. Under this system, one delay in the checklist can lead to a bottleneck effect if one team is stalled. In his IAC presentation, Tausif suggests an alternate response: an automated, holistic design engine software to efficiently complete the prelaunch procedures. The design engine would implement the microservices architecture, to have multiple prelaunch processes running in parallel, saving time and avoiding the bottleneck. This technology will benefit the rapidly growing smallsat industry to meet market demands by providing a sustainable and scalable solution to the prelaunch bottleneck. The design engine concept would also integrate machine learning, AI, and cloud computing, to fully automate the prelaunch procedure.
